BF baby, 2lbs gain in 7 weeks?

Baby was 6.4 at birth, we are quite a slim build couple and our eldest son was 6.1 at birth.

Should I be worried? His last gain was 10 ounces in 2 weeks, but I'm just worried a little. HV said she would come in a weeks time and I shouldn't stress about it.

My youngest, now 45 was EBF and doubled his birth weight by his 6 week check.
Ahhh, the memories of my little chunky boy. 🤗

Have you got a red book to check what he was percentile wise at birth vs now? What percentile does that put them at do you know?

Have you got a local health visitor hub you can pop in to before then?

I'm no expert but it does sound like quite a small gain in 7 weeks - but also good his weight is on the up

Also the HVs are the experts so if they're not worried, you shouldn't be :)

At this stage I'd be aware of it and monitoring it but not worrying too much

That's on the low side I think, 8lb at 7 weeks would be the 0.4th percentile and 6.4/6lb4 would have been 2-9th percentile so it a bit of a drop. How long did it take them to regain birth weight and how much did they drop? If it took a while and there was quite a drop I would compare them to their lowest weight to now rather than birth weight. At 7 weeks how long it took to regain birth weight might still have a bit of an impact on weight.

Any signs of allergies or reflux? My daughter was on the 9th percentile and I was told she was just a 9th percentile baby but once I removed her allergens from my diet and got her on high dose allergy treatment she moved the to 25-50th percentile

My sister was 6lb13 at birth and was admitted for refeeding at 10 weeks as she was only 7lb10! She projectile vomited every feed after switching to formula as my mum was taken into hospital when she was very small. She didn't reach the 0.4th percentile until 1 stayed there until 2 when she moved up to the 50th. She continued to projectile vomit until 2 and regularly was sick until she went vegan at 40 so my mum suspects she had a dairy allergy as a baby as she sees a lot of similarities between her and my daughter.

You can't overfeed a bf baby. It's just not a thing.
