Hi what time do you consider reasonable in putting the kids to bed lights out. I have 13yrs olds who seem to find it hard to get to sleep before midnight. We follow no gaming during the week and screens off an hour before bed. Into bed at 9 to read for half an hour, but they just don't shut down. Often waiting for them to know off before we do

I have an 11 year old who is in her room 8:30-9pm and is asleep by 9:30-10pm usually. I think you need to make nighttime more boring. We have no screens after dinner. I don’t mind leaving her light on til we go to bed (10-10:30pm), but if she’s still awake then, lights are out. There’s not much to do once it’s dark but sleep. I think 10-10:30pm is fine for a 13 year old, but sounds like she just needs more winding down time.

Mine go up by 9pm. The 13yo is asleep pretty quick but the 12yo lays there for ages. Says he struggles to go off to sleep. I let them read but he will get engrossed in a book and when I go up he's still awake reading.
