Hi Parents,
My 4yr old DS is autistic and needs Occupational Therapy. We are on the NHS waitlist but also want to start privately.
After much looking around, we settled on Hopscotch and recently did an assessment there. They have sent us an ongoing plan however, I find their business manager very pushy. He has added a lot of extra bits like workshops, school consultation, EHCP review etc that is racking up the bill to over about £1500. Feeling a bit extorted. He is also being very difficult with session availability.
Private OT is already expensive and even the slightest bit of off-roading is putting us off completely from doing this. I have had 3 OT online sessions via NHS which were completely useless and waste of time that I want to start private but I feel we will get badly cheated in places like Maximum Potential and Hopscotch and my son will get no benefit from the sessions.
Am I overthinking and should I just take the plunge? If anyone has positive feedbacks of Hopscotch, please share - will greatly appreciate.
Also if anyone has recommendation of OT in North London (Harringay, Barnet, Enfield) or central London, please share. Been looking through FB pages and have been asking for recommendations, but haven't got much from there.
Thanks a bunch!
