School boots that don't scuff

Does anyone have any recommendations for winter school boots for a 5 year old who insists on dragging their toes along the ground (why?!) and ruining every pair of boots within a week?. Don't mind if expensive, as long as they don't scuff easily. Have gone through two pairs of cheapish ones this month alone. TIA

If you get leather, then when they scuff you just polish them and they look fine. Get leather and a tin of cherry blossom and Bob's your uncle
