Feeding - expressed milk & formula

Hello - for various reasons I don’t plan to breast feed but would like to express breast milk and feed it in a bottle alongside formula feeding if possible. There seems to be a lot of information online about how to do this to wean baby off breastfeeding but nothing about how to do combi feed from birth. Am I right in thinking we would just use formula until my breast milk comes in and I am able to start pumping, and then start to follow advice for mixed/combo feeding? Really grateful for anyone’s experiences of doing this.

I am very much in the camp of fed is best but I also recognise the benefits of breast milk, so if I can find a way to get that to baby then great but if she doesn’t take to it I’m happy to exclusively formula feed.

Hi, long term BF mum her so experienced but not in exclusively pumping. Your milk comes in by having your baby at the breast and doing skin to skin.. at the very least you’d need to be hand expressing from birth to encourage it but it would help to learn how to express via expressing colostrum from 37 weeks if your doctor allows. Maybe look up exclusively pumping on instagram and google there should be lots of support there too!

La leche league is great for advice!
