Getting out the house with toddler and newborn

I have a 4 week old and a 2 year old and I'm really struggling to get out the house with both of them. As soon as one is ready, the other needs feeding, changing, napping and so on. I have everything ready the night before. But today my 2 year old would not put shoes or a coat on insisting he wants to stay indoors. I tried for half hour before giving up but now myself and my newborn haven't left the house since Monday.
Toddler goes to grandparents twice and week and they are very good at taking him out so he has been out everyday. I just feel like I'm going stir crazy! But I'm finding it almost impossible to get out. Any tips? Or should I just embrace it and let go of the mantra of leaving the house every day for now?

I think that's really personal. Some people absolutely do just stay in - I couldn't, I'd go stir crazy. We go out daily.

Could 2 year old have been persuaded? Do both still nap - and if so, in the pram or carrier?

I'd get baby ready and sorted, and then sort 2-year-old. Get 2-year-old excited about some aspect of what you're doing - mine usually loves the library/feeding the ducks/getting a babyccino/etc. He'll often help with things to help me and baby get ready if he's excited about where we're going.

He takes after me so tends to always be ready to go outside, but if he wanted to stay in, I'd make a deal with him that we'd be going out when the timer went off or similar.

I think I was still hibernating at that point. But I am not desperate to leave the house every day, I realise that’s different for different people.

We did do lots of long drives. At one point that was the only way I could get them both to sleep. Via a drive thru then pootling along with an audio book playing and them both sound asleep felt like a proper break!
