Hello

looking for advice on how to support my son who seems to have some big emotional outbursts. He is quick to get angry or frustrated over things not going how he expects or accidentally hurting himself. His reactions can include screaming very loudly, swearing repeatedly, smacking himself in the head with his hand, and just getting very frustrated. He doesn’t cry, just seems to get quite angry over little things. More recently this seems to be a regular occurrence. I was hoping with half term and a break he would be able to relax and get some rest from school but this hasn’t changed the way he behaves. He start saying I hate my life, I hate you, etc aswell.

any advice? How can we support him? We have tried punishment for saying nasty things. We also try comforting him if he’s hurt himself. He calms down in his own time but if hard when out to manage a reaction in public.

thanks
