Pregnant during mat leave...feeling anxious

As the title has said. I've recently found out in pregnant again 🙈 I'm due to start back at work next week and I feel really anxious about being pregnant again so soon. My dad actually made a comment saying that it's not right and now I'm scared that I'm taking the p*ss. I've worked for the NHS for 10 years so can opt for the full year of ar equal pay. Obviously my little one is only 1 and he was a fertility baby so we weren't actually expecting to fall pregnant naturally so Obviously I'm so excited but I feel like maybe I shouldn't be. Any advice on would be lovely please

Congratulations.
Women do this all the time. There's nothing to feel embarrassed about. You're allowed to have children!

Congratulations.

Your employer doesn’t have the right to dictate what you do with your fertile years. Your dad is being a misogynistic arse.

This is quite common. May raise a few eyebrows, but you have been there for 10 years, so nothing to worry about!

Congratulations 🎉 Another one saying this is fairly common! And two under two is incredibly common, which means a lot of women only have 9m or so back at work before taking a second mat leave.

And all of this!

I don’t think it makes any difference if you have back to back mat leaves or a year or two gap in between. You’re just being efficient really.

I did the same thing in the NHS. Was only back for 6months and then I was off on maternity leave again. It was fine, everyone was very nice about it. It’s not that unusual.

Quite a small age gap that will have its challenges but also positives but your career should not suffer. You employer has no right to treat you negativity for taking two periods of maternity leave close together. If you only have two children you will back to work for good quicker.
