First trimester sickness/tiredness - feeling like a boring/terrible mum

wonder if any of you can relate - I am 8 wks pregnant with DC2 and have a beautiful 18m DC1. Since around 6 wks, I have been struck by nausea and extreme exhaustion. Not surprised as I had this when pregnant with DC1. I would literally sleep whenever I can. Now it’s different with DC2 to look after. I am normally full of energy and out with DC1 for every wake window but now, I don’t even feel human. I am constantly gagging and feel so tired. I do make an effort to take him out at least once a day at the weekend but my nausea peaks mid afternoon to the evening and I just can’t do anything but sit down and watch tv. I engage with DC1 obviously and play with him. I just leave the tv on in the background but I really cannot do anything else. AIBU? Should I be pushing myself more?

hoping this won’t last long …

I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and in the same boat, my DS2 is 19 months. I was in the same boat with DS1 and relied heavily on youtube so the guilt is reduced second time because I know its all a phase!

I work with pregnant ladies - honestly you’re not the only one. I’d say most ladies feel really shit at this point. Your looking after toddler and your growing a baby who is sucking the life force from you so they can grow.

sleep and rest as much as you can x
