Congratulations!!

I had a CS 8 weeks ago and like you, I also felt fine 2 weeks after. However, I had to keep reminding myself that there is a lot of internal healing and carrying in a sling can put pressure on wound site.

I waited till 4 weeks, not the recommended 6 weeks but ultimately, it's your decision.

Don't know what you're s'posed to do but I did after a week (lo was 10lb by then...). I'm fine.

Congratulations, btw. (I would have thought that a sling was better than carrying.)

waited 4 weeks to carry big 101b DS in a sling, I mean.

My sister took my (now her) Wilkinet into hospital.

I certainly did, within a week I think. Think I had been told that I sholdn't use a pushchair and a sling was actually better than a pushchair. Also rather necessary or else how would I have got out of the house.

Incidentally, I carried ds around in a wilkinet loads for at least 6 months. Reckon it's quite a good way to get rid of that baby weight, as well as being a brilliant way of comforting them of course.

umm, I used my sling the day after I came out of hospital. Went for a walk to sainsburys, I got a good telling off from the midwife though I seriously felt fine though, i was getting cabin fever and wanted to show off my new baby! I think the painkillers were masking the pain very well This was 2.5 years ago and I'm fine! Also DS was a hefty 9lb 12oz!

I used a sling day after coming out of hospital. Also got told off by mw for attending my dd1's xmas concert that day and being out when she called .

They are pretty easy to carry around for the first couple of weeks without a sling if you need to.

I was told not to lift anything heavier than the baby for 6 weeks. So the baby in a sling should be fine, and probably better for your back than carrying baby normally.

Don't do what I did and run carrying a heavy 2 year old just 2 weeks after a cs though! Cue for heavy bleeding and "I told you so" from my GP.
