Why won't she sleep?

My little girl is nearly 11 months old. She's always been a really good sleeper and went straight to sleep after a bottle at 7pm every night.

The last week I don't know what's happened but she will not sleep. Despite nothing in her routine changing, she's still awake at 11pm every night.

She has 2 naps each day, both 45 minutes to an hour. Surely she's too young to drop to one nap?

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've read about the 10 month sleep regression but that seems to be more about babies waking up and not going back to sleep. I can't get her to go to sleep in the first place!

Just throwing it out there, but is she warm enough?

My 2yo (literally 24 months old) woke up screaming one night, really upset and would not settle for hours (from about midnight-5am).

Same again the next night.

He was fed, clean, had pain relief, story read, light projector on etc etc and I thoyge felt warm ish.

Turns out he likes to be on the warm side of warm 🤣 as soon as we put a timed heater in his room he slept through again 🤦🏻‍♀️

If anything she's the opposite, she generally runs hot! But I have tried every variation of vest/sleepsuit/sleep sack over the last few nights and nothing seems to make a difference so I don't think it's the temperature.

It's like she just isn't tired. Normally after her bath she's rubbing her eyes and just seems ready for bed, but all of a sudden she's wide awake until 11pm every night and I just have no idea why!

Both of mine dropped to one nap at 9 months. Up at 6am, nap 12-1pm, sleep with wake ups 7-6

It's just the leap. There is a big one about 12 months. Sleep isn't linear remember. Some babies during a leap will want less sleep, or sleep in different patterns.

None of mine have dropped to one nap before 18 months. I think many first time mums drop the nap too early because they don't ride out this leap. It often coincides with people who are not going to be SAHM going back to work and in order to survive/because a CM or nursery only do one nap a day the baby will adapt with no choice.

My four all went down to one nap at around a year. Then dropped naps completely at around 18m.

Thanks for the replies! She's just nodded off finally. I have read a lot of advice saying not to drop a nap yet, but I understand all babies are different.

Hopefully it's just a phase. We have been spoilt so far with her being a good sleeper, I think she was just lulling us into a false sense of security!
