Hi, can anyone offer some advice for us. We've got a 2 year old girl who when she turned 2, when through a horrendous sleep regression and was barely getting 6 hours a night. That went on for 6 months, we finally got her settled into a routine where she now gets enough sleep. However, she will only go to sleep if mum is laid in bed with her. Mum sneaks out, then she will only stay there for about an hour or 2 before she'll come and get in mums bed or mum gets back into her bed. Then she sleeps through for the rest of the night.
We've tried the Disappearing chair method with her for a while, where mum sits in the chair and puts her bsck into bed every time she gets out and mum sits back down. We persevered with this for a few weeks but she thought it was the most fun game ever and made her hyper. The goal with her is for her to go to bed without mum in bed and stay there all night. She's 3 at christmas.
Then I have a 1 year old boy who is rocked to sleep in his rocking chair and then transferred to his bed when he's asleep. But won't be able to do this for much longer with him getting bigger. The goal for him is to go strsight into his.cot at bedtime and self soothe instead of being rocked all the time.
The children share a bedroom so is going to be hard to start new sleep techniques again and which one to start with first
Has anyone been in a similar position who csn offer any advice?
