Hello!
My little one is 3 months old smd exclusively breast fed. My main concern was her nappies. She sometimes has 3 or 4 explosive nappies a day. They're really gloopy, mucus and very wet. They have never been right but recently getting worse (picture attached, sorry in advance!).
She has started wincing when feeding. She has a rash on her chest and belly and has since I can remember, we were originally told this was from being sick so much.
Her sick is mostly like water, it just pours out of her mouth and there's so much she coughs and splutters. Occasional it's like curdled milk which I thought was normal but the water I'm unsure about.

She does sometimes wheeze when sleeping and sounds like she has a snotty nose but it never seems to bother her. She maybe has bad tummy ache once or twice a week where she is unconsoleable and it lasts a few hours but other than this she isnt a 'cryer' and she sleeps well on a night but not in the day.

i can also hear her belly churn while she feeds. She hasnt been weighed in a month, so ill check her weight.
Very occasionally she won't have one in 24 hours and is in pain and then the aftermath is unreal.

Doctors have advised I cut out dairy, which I will. What's throwing me is that she is generally a happy and settled baby, apart from a couple of times a week where she screams for hours.

Has anyone got experience of cmpa with generally settled baby? Any other advice is appreciated

Didn't want to read and run. Both my DC has CMPA - first had very similar nappies and projectile vomit. Got told she had colic. Second slightly less severe but maybe because we caught it earlier.
Could it be the days they're more unsettled, you've had more dairy? Mine were bottle fed but its crazy how much a bit of dairy can upset them. Soya can sometimes be an issue too.

Both mine outgrew it around 3 thankfully, the dairy free cheese was dreadful!

Definitely sounds like it could be cmpa.
My little one was mostly happy, it effected him most in the evenings to start with but he eventually started refusing his feeds.

Yes generally happy baby and she had CMPA. It’s always worth excluding for six weeks to see if it makes an impact - avoiding dairy isn’t fun but it’s worth it if she’s in pain. Just be careful to exclude all forms - it’s in so many things you wouldn’t suspect. Also a high proportion of kiddos allergy to dairy are also allergic to soy so if symptoms get worse after you exclude it could be she’s also allergic to that as you often use soy replacements.

Thank you for your response!
It was the nappies that concerned me. Sometimes 3 or 4 like this a day! Interestingly the doctor said the nappies were normal and it was rhe rash that concerned her... how can it be normal for a tiny human to poo so much!!

My sons nappies were like that and he had cmpa, it took for a touch of blood to be in one and a good health visitor to finally say yes its cmpa and once he was on the right formula his nappies were totally different. Proper poo, and no mucus. He never had a rash but the allergy was there, he used to habe a bowel movement 5 or 6 times a day poor kid.

My son’s nappies were like that for 6 weeks before the doctor actually listened to me! He was bottle fed, switched his formula to soy, and within 2 bottle feeds he was a totally different baby. Was absolutely unbelievable!

I saw 3 different GPs before I was listened to. As soon as we changed milk my little one was a different baby.
