Four month sleep regression aaagh

Hello! Just looking for any tips on how to navigate this tricky phase. I have a four year old who has just started school and her younger sibling is suddenly waking every hour or two and not settling back to sleep. He was a great little sleeper up until now but it’s all gone to pot now.

He’s in with us in our room. When he wakes up he’ll often grumble and grumble a bit, and usually I’d be happy to give him the time to maybe self settle (sometimes he will, especially if I start falling back asleep), but he’s waking his bigger sis. She’s finding the adjustment to school tough and is knackered every day, so her sleep is important.

just so he doesn’t wake her, I’m quickly sticking him on the boob until he sleeps again (he’s not hungry, I’m basically a giant dummy) but I fear this will take away his ability to learn to self soothe.

he won’t take a dummy, we’ve tried that.

just here for any tips, experiences, moral support. Not here for any judgment.

thanks!

Have you tried white noise? This may help drown out the crying for your 4 yo
