Bed times

Does anybody else find it impossible to get their kids to bed at a decent hour? I always find that by the time everything is done and the kids have had their supper (always hungry at night) we’ve had a chat, they’ve read, packed their school bags etc it can be really late - like 1030 on some nights, or even 11 when they get to sleep 😱 they are age 12 and 10. As much as we aim for 9/930 bed times it rarely happens- the earliest is 10pm. The only exceptions are days I am off work when it seems to be easier

My older teens sleep varies but my 12 year old is in bed by about 10:30pm as well and he is also quite busy honestly but that's because of extra curriculars and homework and stuff like that. He's up by about 7 so gets around 9ish hours which isn't awful. For my 9 year old, she is bed by 9pm though. It's just in her routine and it isn't that hard to get her down as she's quite a quick sleeper.

We do struggle a lot with my 6 year old though. She is a very slow eater and a big chatter! Takes ages to read as well and then sometimes there are after school clubs. We try to get her down by 7:30pm as otherwise she is cranky but this often ends up being about an hour later 🙄
