Easy tv dinners for young kids

We usually sit at the table to eat dinner but we are on week 3 of a horrible virus doing the rounds in the family. DS is 2 years old and barely eating much, I'm feeling rubbish, DH is in the office and won't get home until late and I have to pick my DD up from school (who has just returned back after having 4 days off ill) I just want an easy few days so am going to give the kids some dinner in front of the tv as everyone is done in. Yesterday I made banana pancakes with a variety of fruit/veg to munch on (blueberries, carrots, cumber, Celery, spinach, melon, peppers, sweetcorn, apple etc). I can't think of what else to make other than peanut butter sandwiches with the same fruit/veg salad on the side. Does anyone else have any good sofa/non messy meals/relatively healthy?

Oven food. Turkey dinosaurs and smiley faces with some veg, fish finger sandwiches, mini pizzas or things like cheese on toast.

When mine were not eating much after being ill I always found that giving them really tiny bits of lots of things to pick at worked really well. So a quarter of cheese on toast, a strawberry, 3 or four pieces of plain pasta, like borrower sized portions.

Hoep you all feel better soon.

Fish fingers / pizza / chicken nuggets just go down the freezer aisle and pick something, chuck it in the oven for 20 mins it won't kill them. Add fruit or ice lollies for sore throats for dessert.

Our Sunday evening standard is cheese and crackers and apple slices (or whatever fruit you have to hand).

One tray roasting - also getting over a cold here so tonight we had roasted new and sweet potatoes, tofu and broccoli with some hummus to dip in. Sub out for different veggies or protein but can all be done in one tray and bonus is it’s healthy

Pizza 🍕 straight on the oven rack (no tray to clean) and can just grab a slice (no need for plates to clean) sod faffing around with chopping veg/fruit when your all feeling crap n probably wont eat much anyway lol xx

Not healthy but I do literally just do picky bits if one of my kids are ill. My youngest is especially messy so we just use her plate with a bunch of different sections and she has mini mozzarella bites, mini hot dog, cheese and crackers, a sausage roll and then a bit of whatever fruit or veg we have in the house that she likes which mainly ends up being strawberries, grapes, apples, cucumbers, carrots and yellow peppers.

Our favourite quick dinner is potato waffles (done in the toaster), baked beans, and grated cheese. Takes 10 minutes tops.

Quesadillas? Well, not proper ones!

Tortilla wrap with pizza sauce or just cheese, ham, whatever you want, fold in half and put in a pan until melted and crispy
Cut it up into triangles for easy eating with veg sticks

Thanks for all your suggestions. Unfortunately my kids can be so picky! My toddler won't even touch pizza and my DD won't touch potato waffles!

Just to ask - does lolies really work for sore throat? For us it was always tea and honey or some medicine... 🤔

Lollies can make a sore throat worse, it's generally heat that's good for a sore throat.

However, lollies are good when they're ill and not drinking much. As is Angel delight, custard, yogurt etc - helps prevent dehydration.
