My LO is 4 weeks old tomorrow and has been having issues with his belly. We are on Kendamil atm and at the beginning everything was fine but from 3 weeks problems have started. He has developed a rash on his face which is blotchy don’t think its baby acne , dry flaky yellow skin around ear lobes, sounds very congested and doesn’t finish his bottles. Once he is feeding he is also in discomfort I add Infacol drops in his milk that helps with wind but struggles to go toilet and when he does its very loose. I just feel like he is never content and is unhappy because he is pain constantly tense and stiff and goes so red! Last night he was constantly grunting and squirming in his sleep I felt so helpless and terrible knowing my baby is in discomfort :( I’ve been reading online that this could be CMPA or even formula is not sitting well with him. Not sure to just change formula or go GP? I’ve attached some photos below if anyone is going through similar things. Any help will be amazing

Definitely take him to a GP or give your health visitor a call. The doctor will hopefully prescribe some milk for you. It sounds like he has quite a few CMPA symptoms.

Poor little one, my boy suffered too, it looks very much like CMPA so definitely try and get a GP appt as soon as possible. Our GP surgery is rubbish and we couldn’t get an appt at around the same age as your little one - took him to the urgent treatment centre at the hospital (equivalent of a&e) and they immediately sent us through to the paediatrics team who were amazing and checked him over then and there and put him under the care of a consultant so we don’t have to keep seeing a Gp about his digestive issues, we see her quarterly and she is helping with the milk ladder/weaning too rather than a dietician so may be worth trying the same approach!

good luck, I hope it helps settle your lad

Did you swap from boob to formula at one week?
Bless him it looks like it could be a cows milk protein allergy. Formula can also cause constipation. I would see your GP asap as a non dairy formula has to be prescribed. It may be worth a try.

I would definitely take him to the doctors about his belly.

However, the rash seems to be a very common occurrence at 4 weeks - there are lots of threads about this on here. My little girl also had a 4 week rash, and I assumed that the jojoba oil I put on her body reacted with a heat rash. Another person wrote that they saw the doctor about it and the doctor said it was due to hormones.

Anyway, I would take him to the GP so they could have a good look at him.
