What has people bought/ buying for their babies this year, I have a 3'month old daughter she'll be 6 months at Christmas time! I've bought her a few bits not really sure what to buy!!

before people say just don't worry about Christmas babies don't know what it is and they are happy with a box ( true) but I don't want to do that! I've also got a niece who I'll be spending Christmas with and she'll be wondering why her baby cousin doesn't have toys.

I just needed ideas!!

We got our DD a jumperoo for her first Christmas when she was 6 months old! I would think along the lines of things you might need for her that could also double as a nice present!

I got a lot of learning toys from ‘The Works’ and Montessori toys

I was definitely thinking of a jumperoo, I think first Christmas is so so special as well! X

We got great use out of it and it lasted her a long time as she grew with it. She loved it.

Oh that's such a good idea, might have to get some things that she can use as she's getting older

Stacking cups were a huge hit with both of mine, and enjoyed for years.

We got practical things. 6 month olds really don’t need much in the way of toys, but they might enjoy opening presents or playing with the wrapping paper. We did clothes, baby soap, board books. Think of things you’d buy anyway for a 6 month old: bibs, sippy cup, Sophie the giraffe, first set of cutlery.

shardlakem · 07/10/2024 20:46

I would get clothes in the next size(s)!

My baby is 6 months old now so she’ll be 8 months by Christmas and I’ve basically just bought her all of the toys for the next development stage she’ll need! So I’ve got her a walker, an activity cube, an activity table, a baby remote (she constantly tries to chew our actual remote🤣), a ball drop toy, a baby xylophone thing to bang the stick against, a shape sorter thing, it’s basically all things she’ll play with from 8months-12 months and beyond!

For ideas your list though as my little girl is 6 months now her favourite things are her activity triangle, her little spinner toys, her stacking cup toy, lots of rattles, a sensory tissue box (we must refill this about 20 times a day), a light up bar toy, and she’s sitting now so toys that encourage her to sit are amazing! Also if 6 months at Christmas you could also get her weaning bits as Christmas presents! X

They are all such good ideas, I might come back to that list when she's 8 months too then🤣 I was going to get her a pool pit as well for Christmas!

Yes my girl has a ball pit now as well actually! The pink Smyths one I’d really recommend, more than big enough for me to sit in with her and she’s loving it atm!
