Hi, I wondered if anyone was able to help with any ideas my daughter turns 1 on the 28th December I really want to mark the occasion but unsure how. As they don’t remember it and it’s an odd time of year between new year/ Christmas! Any advice or ideas would be great!

Remember that the first birthday is essentially for you. They don't know what a birthday is and won't remember the day anyway. It's for you to celebrate keeping them alive for a full year! Do something that you would like. Have a big party or just invite close family over or leave baby with grandparents and have a date night with your partner or have a family day out. Whatever you would like to celebrate the end of this first year of parenthood.

Maybe buy the baby a keepsake gift for when they're older and take lots of lovely pictures.

Have a little party at home with cake. Invite a few close friends and family. It’s an odd time in between Christmas and New Year, but friends especially may be keen to join to get a break from making the rounds to family. It’s a grown up party just for catching up and taking some photos.
