Aptamil comfort or acid reflux?

Hi,

I have a 3 week old baby girl and I am confused on which formula to get.

My daughter goes red and is kicking her feet looking tense but does loose poos.

She has hiccups often not sure if this is related. I make sure I don't lay her down after feeds and make sure she burps after every feed.

I also don't shake the bottle but mix it with a spoon to reduce bubbles in the milk.

I have been massaging her belly and doing all the little exercise techniques I've seen on YouTube such as cycling legs.

Can I get some advice, which formula have parents used and why.

Thank you xxxx

Hi 👋🏻 and congrats!!

I have a 9 week old baby girl, and we have tried possibly every formula.

I'm combi feeding her due to her cluster feeding, which was insanely draining when I was exclusively breastfeeding.

Anyway, when we started her on the normal aptamil formula, she was very sickly, hiccups, colicky, and struggling to poop. We tried the comfort one, reflux and lacto-free, but none seemed to help her symptoms. It was only when we went to the docs and found she had a slight cows milk allergy, and they put her on the hypoallergenic formula that we saw a massive change!

It's definitely down to trial and error, and I guess each baby reacts differently to different formulas.

I'd suggest going with your gut instinct and trying what you feel is best, but give the formulas a week or so to kick in before ruling them out 😊 x
