21 Month old NOT SLEEPING HELP

Has anyone else experienced this? Im
currently wide awake at 4am writing this 😭.

my son used to be an amazing sleeper, was sleeping through the night at 8 weeks old and had been great ever since (with the odd night here and there) but now... it's like a whole different child.

he goes to bed at 7pm and we keep the same routine near enough everyday, brush teeth, read a book and the bed. (Currently can't put a bath before bed as he HATES them and has a melt down - still not out of that phase yet but we are getting there) Some nights it's a tantrum before bed like a full BLOWN tantrum. Then other nights he goes off straight away. He tends to wake around 2am and for example tonight he has a tantrum for 47 minutes which has resulted in waking his little brother up, currently crying ahhh. We have tried everything, cutting down nap length during the day, when he has his nap, even tried not having a nap. Some days we don't do much and some days we are busy busy busy and it don't make a difference to his sleep. (I go on a walk once a day despite the weather just so we get out)

I have no idea what to do, he is in a toddler bed so he can get out of bed and he goes to his bedroom gate screaming.

any advice or tips would be highly appreciated for this sleep deprived mum 😔

Try reward chart. Look at food, is he hungry before bed? Can be night terrors waking him up. A nightlight might help. Also he can be awake in bed, just talk about staying there and quiet at night.

@JDob I did some googling and saw it could be hunger, so I moved tea time a bit later and added snacks, but hasn't seem to done much. He is a pretty good eater. We also have a night light as I thought it could be something to do with that also😔 what are the tell tale signs of a night terror? I might try the reward chart!!

thank you!! Xx

Hi, just wondering if you had any luck with getting your son back to a normal routine?

Same situation, always been a great sleeper, suddenly at 20 months up half the night, hates being in his room. 4am is the new start to the day. Any advice would be appreciated if anything helped!
