As the title suggests, our 7 month old started throwing up after any milk feeds on Tuesday evening, and we are now at Saturday and there still doesn't seem to be much respite from it. He's also had a temp in the 38s but has seemed to be high 37s today. Been happy in himself.
We initially thought that it was a sickness bug as we had the heads up from nursery there was one going round, but there was nothing the other end, just the sickness.
I took him to the GP yesterday as I was worried about dehydration and he sent us straight to a&e. Doctors checked him over and said his throat was red and inflamed and because he was snotty and coughing it's likely a viral upper respiratory infection and that's what is making him sick. He is very bunged up.
Can a cold really make them sick so much so they're bringing up every feed? Sometimes the cough does trigger the gag reflex but other times there's no cough I can just physically see the stomach contract and out comes the entire feed!
He has a CMPA and is on pepti1 with magic mix thickener. He's always had a touch of reflux which he seemed to grow out of but even then it was never an entire bottle shooting out.
He also had meningitis at 4 weeks that only presented as a temperature so the fact we are on day 4 of this makes me really anxious something else is wrong.
Anyone been through anything similar?
