Has anyone out there actually used cottom bottoms nappies. Can anyone advise me on tricks for use, good folds to prevent leaks etc???

Feed back please!

I use them and like them. They dry very quickly!

Have you got a girl or a boy? I don't know about boy fold as I have 2 girls, but the girl fold is dead easy just fold into 3. My tip is to make the first fold a bit longer so you go more than 1/3 of the way across the nappy, and then the resulting pad is not quite as bulky between the legs.

Good luck!

sex unknown at this time. Just being prepared. Thanks. Are fleece liners necessary?

I don't use them. Are they an alternative to flushable liners? I just use the wrap, the nappy, and a flushable liner. I also use flushable wipes to keep it simple(Beaming Baby, although there are others) but others use washable wipes. I don't use a cloth nappy overnight and don't think a Cotton Bottom would be up to that without a booster pad.

Ive used cotton bottoms on ds and dd, they're a great day time nappy. Bramshott is right though, theyre not up to the task for night times! With ds I used 2 prefolds together in a larger wrap for night times, but with dd Ive invested in some hemp, bamboo and fleece fitted nappies with boosters (mainly Totsbots, Babybeehinds and Minki Huggle).

Lots of good prefold info here: www.greenmountaindiapers.com/howto.htm

We use the angel wing fold with a nippa. I like the simplicity of prefolds and find them easier to wash than pockets or all in ones.
