10 month old just woke with a huge gasp

Just that. My 10 month old just woke in his car seat with a huge gasp, then a quick cry, and went back to sleep.

This has never happened before with either of my kids. Now I’m worrying it’s a breathing problem.

Am I right in thinking unless it keeps recurring, it’s probably nothing?

Hard to say without more info. My daughter does this often and I'm not worried at all. Night terrors I think. It breaks my heart to see her face scrunch up after. If you are worried though trust your instincts and get them checked over. I imagine it is completely normal baby sleep.

I think it is normal - perhaps them dreaming - but maybe check his position in the seat as car seats can put them into a problematic position for breathing, especially if they are being used for extended periods (e.g. used in car then brought into house to continue sleep). Had he been in the seat for a long time?
