My 12 mo baby cries loads after 7 pm so I can only stay out till then. He doesn't fall asleep till 8.30.

People always give me stick for being a party pooper and leaving events early. It makes me sad but also wonder if I'm doing something wrong with sleep and bedtime??

People seem to stay out later with their babies just sleeping for periods of time here and there and their babies seem happy enough.

No, you're not doing anything wrong, 7 is a perfectly reasonable bedtime for a 12 month old (even if they are awake until 8.30)

Babies cry, I certainly could never have taken mine out with me in the evening at 12m. - routine is everything for my DD.

Unfortunately social lives take a massive backseat especially in the first year or two. Do you have anyone who can babysit so you can still enjoy the occasional evening out?

Thank you. Good to know I'm not crazy. Alot of people are making me feel bad about it but it's mainly people that aren't parents or were parents decades ago so they don't understand or remember.

We don't really have alot of help.
