Milk feeds at 1

Hi all. My 10 month old is in daycare 3 days a week and I send two lots of expressed milk (about 100/120ml each) for him to have before his naps. I think he’ll be dropping to one nap sooner rather than later and I am also thinking of switching to cows milk soon for daycare but continuing to feed to sleep at home as that’s easier for me. I wondering if at 1 he should really be ok with no milk at daycare (he is there about 8am - 3pm) or should have a cup of cows milk after his lunch? I just don’t want to replace too much of his solids with milk if he’s still breastfed when home with him (but also don’t want him waking at night more for milk). Keen to hear what you have done with your babies at this age.

They don't need milk feeds after one, as long as they get calcium from other dairy. So he's fine dropping it if he will go to sleep without

Agree with the above. We sent a bottle (for cows milk) at 1 and daycare didn’t use it, baby just ate solid foods there and breastfed at home.

Maybe speak to nursery too, as our nursery still offer all children up to 2 a cup of cow’s milk with their morning snack. My DS never takes the offer as he is also breastfed at home and didn’t take a bottle. Agree with other posters though, he started at 1 and won’t drink milk from a cup or bottle, so he has water at nursery and breastfeeds at home, completely fine

They don't need milk if they get enough calcium elsewhere but if he'll drink the cows then it's good for him. My first wouldn't so after 1 she just got breastmilk in the morning and evening around work. My second likes cows milk in the day but still breastfed at bedtime into her toddler years.
