what is it with strangers touching babies faces.. every time I go to the shop lately its constant old people trying to touch my baby,
today I went to the shop and 3 separate old people approached me, I put the baby in the baby carrier, as needed to be quick and people kept touching/ approaching the pram so tried a carrier,
one old lady was literally blowing her nose with one hand whilee asking questions about her then saying oh how old and reaching to stroke her face.. as I say please dont touch her.. they all got very offended..

sorry I dont want a stranger touching my 3 month olds face??

I just want to go out without this happening every time ffs Its just unpleasant when I say please donttouch as it sounds very rude but ill always say it

One of those things that will split opinion. There will be plenty of posters who agree with you.

I never minded it at all. Old people have lived a life, they are happy to see new life in the world. I'm sure when I'm an old woman I'll love seeing babies and the reminder they bring of when my grown children were tiny.

I have all the time in the world for the elderly when they want to chat about babies and touch them. The old people where I live are still so sweet to my 3 year old. The talk to him and call him "young man", compliment his scooter, call him handsome and polite. It makes me proud. Some still proffer a pound coin for his pocket money and it reminds me of the hansels they'd sneak into his pram when he was a baby.

My son reminds them of their youth or their children. They remind me that I too will be old and frail one day.
