New separation anxiety

Hi,

I have a 2.5yo child and 4 months ago had a second baby. Our 2.5yo seemingly adjusted amazingly to having a new baby around.... until now. He goes to nursery 3 times a week and grandparents occasionally too, this has been his routine since 10 months old (i went back to work) and he's always skipped in happily without a look back. For the past 2 weeks he has been absolutely sobbing at drop offs and clinging to me. He will happily talk about where we're going until we actually get there and he does it regardless of whether we've just spent a few days together. Nothing else has changed and I do my best to give him as much 1-1 time as possible when we're together.

Just wondering if anyone else went through something similar at this age? I'm not sure if it's just another phase of separation anxiety that we need to ride out?

Thanks in advance

He's doing it with grandparents too. He's always fine when I go to collect him and I practically have to drag him out from both places! I'm sort of wondering whether its a delayed response to his new sibling, it literally came on overnight

I think all kids go through phases like this it's normal and will pass I used to have to sneak out of the house on my niece not even my baby but she was always fine once I was gone, my brother and sister in law used to always tell the kids they were going but would be back and just reassure them .
