I feel absolutely awful for my 6 year old daughter as our 2 year old wants nothing to do with her and most of their interactions involve him pushing her away or hitting her. If she is sat cuddling me then he will get frustrated and come over and try and pull her off my lap. He doesn’t like to play with or alongside her, however he loves playing with older (boy) cousins and friends.
She gets very upset and says that her brother hates her; and I can’t say I blame her as it for a 6 year old it must appear that way! I talk to her about it and explain that he’s only 2 and how he doesn’t understand that he’s hurting her feelings etc but does anyone have any similar experiences that ended well? I just feel so awful for her as he barely acknowledges her let alone likes her!
