Newborn sleep advice

My son is 6 weeks old and sleeps peacefully on me or my DH. As soon as we move him to his next to me, he wakes up and flails his arms and legs to the extent he moves to the top of the crib. I have tried infacol and gripe water incase it is wind but neither have helped.

I have also tried:

  1. Swaddling - he seemed to like at first but now gets frustrated. I have tried love to dream but as his legs still move he did not settle. Have also tried little seeds but his arms escape.
  2. Hot water bottle / our clothes in next to me - did nothing
  3. Placing him bum first - it is not the transition that wakes him and we have tried waiting the 20 minutes until he is in a deep sleep
  4. White noise - he is not fussed.

Is there anything else I can try apart from accepting this may be how he is for a while?

I'm sorry I didn't do more when mine was a newborn she is 14 weeks now and I'm stuck , she's asleep on me right now . I bought taking Cara babies course yesterday (I'm desperate) on a MN recommendation and if I had it when she was 5 weeks old I think I'd be in a better position now . She shows a technique for putting down swaddled as well and showing it for babies that you think hate being swaddled. I stopped swaddling mine early as it did seem to make things worse again if I had of had more information I would have done things differently but here we are
