We’ve all had Covid and toddler has been very ill with urine infection. Sleep out of sync. Woke up today at 1pm. Usually naps 3-5 and bedtime around 10pm.

shall I skip the nap and put them down at 8 and hope they sleep through the night?
all advice welcome and needed please.

sorry for abrupt typing, typing quickly before they find me with phone!!

Sorry it didn't work!
Has there been any improvement now?

Jellybellybabybeans · 18/09/2024 18:10

lol not your fault @wildthingsinthenight Oh god he did it the next night too. Went down at 7 and was bouncing around at 9.30pm then fell asleep at 2.30! I don’t actually know when because I feel asleep first and the next thing I knew it was morning.

I don’t know where I’m going wrong- he usually loves getting in the buggy for a nap but is flat out refusing and having a melt down so I don’t want him to be distressed but at the same time he needs the sleep!

not ideal but he went down yesterday at 6pm and today at 4.30. So looking at 11.30 pm sleep tonight. I spend about an hour chasing him round trying to calm him for a nap- I’m bloody shit at this!

He is a late riser as I’m not working so very relaxed and usually wakes up between 9.30-10.30am but would nap between 2-4 and 3-5. I do need to get him up earlier.

I am still open to all advice and routine ideas as he’ll be starting nursery in Jan and I’ll go back to work at some point. Ahh thank you for reading and advising xx

Yes your day needs to start a lot earlier i think.
Look at The Baby Whisperer EASY routine. We had success with that.
He should be asleep much earlier in the evening.
How old is he?

wildthingsinthenight · 22/09/2024 15:36

Maybe only needs one nap now?
