2 month old one red cheek

My 2 month old this evening has developed one red cheek, it's not spotty or raised.
We were out today and I had to cross a recreation ground so a few mins walk where his face was in late afternoon soon that I tried to shield as much as possible. And the side that's red isnt the side that was most in the sun. So I'm not sure it could be that.
It's not spread further than his cheek.
He's been a bit grumpier this evening and very much chewing his hands, surely couldn't be teething? It looks like my daughter's red cheeks she would get when teething but is he not too young?!

My 1st thought was teething

Sounds like he might be teething. Some babies are actually born with teeth, so no age is too young!

Could he have caught slap cheek from someone?

Other than that it does sound like teething. My daughter got her first two teeth at 3 months and was teething for a few weeks prior.

Early teething? Is he grizzly/dribbly?

My DS always had this when he was teething.

Definitely sounds like teething. Mine started at this age😬

Thank you all, he was a bit more grizzly than usual yesterday! Weirdly I was searching other posts on Mumsnet about early teethers after writing this and found one I had commented on saying my DD started at 8 weeks 😂 so I reckon it must be that! Thank you all x
