Flying with ear infection

We are due to go away next Thursday to Italy on our first holiday abroad, my daughter has an ear infection since Monday, she is on antibiotics for it. I am very nervous about flying with her next week...do you think it will be okay to fly with such a recent ear infection? She gets ear infections on and off through out the year.

When do the antibiotics finish?

We flew with an ear infection back from holiday. She was OK on flight. We did need a fit to fly note from doctor to satisfy insurance as we were claiming. I was very stressed as it was the next day after antibiotics started

You need to be very careful flying with an ear infection. Possibly book a doctors appointment closer to when you leave and get them to check her out? Did you ask the GP about this when she was seen?

No my partner took her to the appointment, I don't think it was mentioned. I was thinking I should make another appointment to make sure it's okay before going. She started her antibiotics on Tuesday and they are for a week so she'll be finished 2 days before we fly. Worried she'll be in a lot of pain

If she'll be finished the antibiotics by the time you fly then the ear infection should be cleared up. You'll probably find she's symptom free by Tuesday

I would not fly with an ear infection, but think it will be cleared up by the time you go ☺️

I think considering the course of antibiotics will be done two days before you fly she'll most likely be fine to go
