Needy baby advice

I have a 3 month year old who is fairly needy. At night time she settles straight away when put in her bedside cot but during the day is another story. I was advised in the first few weeks by the health visiting team to pick DD up when she crys but wondered do you then phase this out? It's very limiting and exhausting now as I can't get anything done. I've tried a baby carrier and she hates it. Just wondering what everyone else's experience was?

Do you go out. I used to find going out for walks and cafe etc helps to break the day up. A swing chair really helped me one of the battery powered ones.

I used to push mine out in the pram and then leave in the garden asleep (youngest in only 3 but we live very rurally). It took a couple of weeks to get them trained but it did allow me a couple of hours to get things done. My kitchen does open onto the garden

Get a carrier/sling and you'll have yours free.

3 month olds cannot do anything for themselves, so you have to pick them up and take them everywhere with you. It's not neediness, it's nature!
