What time does your 10 year old go to bed?

Just that. I have one child and it sounds so daft but I don't actually know what time a ten year old should go to bed? I usually send her 8 to bedroom to read and chill and lights off at 9 but not sure if 9 is a bit late and I should do lights off at 8:30. What do you all do?

My 10 year old goes to bed around 9pm. He is usually up around 7:30 so plenty of time to get ready for school.

My 10 year old goes up at 8pm. She is probably in bed by 8.15pm and then reads for half hour. X

My 10 year old goes up between 730-8

She faffs for ages in the bathroom and then she reads or writes in her diary, she's usually asleep by 9.

My 11 year old goes up between 7.30/8 for shower, hair wash, faffing about then she watches tele or reads for a bit and lights out between 9.15 and 9.30. She’s up at 7 for Secondary school now so we’re bringing the timings forward a little bit until she settles in as she’s tired.

My eldest was in bed around 8pm when he was 10 (early riser) my youngest has ADHD and he really struggles to switch off so I've relented with a 9pm bedtime to see if that helps, it seems very late to me though, I remember not getting a 9pm bedtime till about 13/14 😅

Lights out at 8:30 on a school night, 9 at weekends/holidays. She goes upstairs at 8, potters and plays for 15 mins, teeth, then 10 mins reading before lights out.

9:30pm (asleep by 10pm). She had gymnastics twice a week that didn’t finish till 9pm.

Now 13 and gymnastics doesn’t finish till 9:30 3 times a week so bedtime is 10pm.

Also has ADHD and always been a night owl.

BestZebbie · 09/09/2024 08:00

Bedtime routine starts around 8-8.15pm. Actual sleep painfully finally occurs at around 10pm (even with lying down quietly trying). DS then wakes between 6am-7am 90% of the time.

Fontainebleau007 · 09/09/2024 08:01

8:30 school nights asleep by 9

9:30 on weekends
