Would you be worried? Fire hazard at Dad's new place

Hey lovelies, looking to get a wider perspective. My son's Dad and I split just over year ago for various reasons. My son is 2. His Dad has moved in to a new house recently (he rents a bedroom from a couple which he shared with out son on the nights our son (nearly 2 up) is there. He recently told me that his bedroom window doesn't open up wider than 2cm at all due to the design. None of the other upstairs windows on the 1st floor open either. The only reliable entrances and exists are downstairs meaning that if there was a fire in the kitchen or downstairs it would be very difficult for them all to get out. I feel worried about my son being there at night if there isn't at least one opening window in or near his bedroom. Thoughts guys?

You’d break the glass, stick a duvet over the sharp edge and get out.

Isn’t there a release mechanism? Surely they’re just set on integrated restrictors and he needs to work a bit harder figuring out how to release them.

Heya, no the actual frame only opens a small amount the rest is just sealed glass. I've triple checked. Hmm
