Who did it?

Just gone into the bathroom to find 2 toilet rolls in the toilet. OBVIOUSLY been done on purpose. Both sons (7 and 9) are denying it. I'm VERY angry as I have spent shitloads of money on them today and they just take the piss.

I have told them that until one of them admits it we are not going swimming tomorow as planned and not doing any baking as arranged on Sunday.

I'm inclined to believe my 9 year old as he is screaming, crying, swearing etc that his brother is a liar, a selfish little boy, that he ruins everything and the 7 year old is just lying in bed laughing and taking the piss out of him.

7 year old is also more likely to do something like this.

But, how can I find out for sure who did it before I start dealing out punishments?

Doesn't matter, a threat to get their dad down to question them was enough to make 7 year old admit it

well done for getting it right though.

I think when you are in this position, you can't do anything until you know for sure - proof or a confession.

Unless you just take it in turns and punish them equally regardless of who is to blame for any individual incident.

What irritates me more is that its just a huge joke for him. He doesn't care about anything, he ruined DS1s birthday, I can't take him anywhere without him showing me up, he misbehaves at karate which makes it hard for me and DS1 to enjoy our own interest in it and he just laughs when you tell him off. He's supposed to be in the process of being assessed for ADHD or similar but its useless and seems to be taking forever.

Punishment - he had to take them out of the toilet himself and since he has a huge phobia of germs and anything dirty this really did get to him and I'm also banning the xbox for the rest of the week.
