How to get a swimming cap on DD's bob hair?

DD5 started swimming classes today and a cap is compulsory. I hadn't tried to get it on her before today tbf but I tried really hard. She has a bob haircut down to her chin and a fringe. I tried first to get it in a ponytail but it's too short, too short even to get the front part into a little ponytail on top or anything like that. But once the cap is over her head, so much of her hair is sticking out the bottom it's totally impractical to poke all of it in, I poke one bit in and another bit comes out. I told the teacher this and she said we have to sort it out for next week. Does anyone have any tips??

Get her to bend forward so hair all goes up to the top of her head. Put an elastic on so its at the top of her head (or two bunches at top of her head, whatever location to catch the most hair possible). Get the cap on while she's upside down

Get a non silicone cap.

It is a rubber cap?

Get one made of stretchy fabric instead.

Why do they have to wear a cap?

Do they have to n wear the caps provided by the swim school? The thin rubber ones they use are often hard to get on. If you are allowed to use your own the thicker silicon hats are much better and easier to put on.

You may need to put a bit of powder in the rubber ones to stop them sticking. Also the head upside-down trick for short hair it often the best option.
