So after my child attending reception I felt the school was not best fit and was offered a new school for Year 1, not sure how best to navigate the move. My child enjoyed school and has a little group of friends in class and would prefer to stay but long term I don't feel this school can offer as good an education so wanting to move sooner than later. Trying to think of ways to improve the transition, was thinking I could try to reach out to parents of the new school for a meet maybe but worried it won't go well! Help!

If they're starting back this week then I would just leave it and encourage play dates when your child settles. I'm sure it'll be fine, all my children are used to others joining and leaving during their time at primary and tend to make friends with them quickly if they're the sort of child they like.
