Pram recommendations!

Baby due in 2 months. Finding it a nightmare deciding on a pram/travel system.
Requirements are-
. Suitable from birth to 4 so has a bassinet
. Seat can face both ways
. Easy, compact fold
. Light weight as possible
. All terrain tyres and suspension
. Good for tall parents
. Ideally the Bassinet can be used for occasional overnight sleep.
. Ideally no more than £600. Hopefully less!

Am I looking for the moon on a stick?

At that price, yes maybe.
The mama and papas occaro ticked all those boxes except the price !

Uppa baby. I’ve had two. Fantastic prams

Alifemadelessordinary · 01/09/2024 22:09

I think you'll struggle OP.
I've been looking for something similar and it does seem that there isn't anything that ticks all those boxes.

I have a Cybex Priam but after being diagnosed with a rare type of Rheumatoid arthritis, I need something considerably lighter and more compact, having spent over £1200 three years ago I need something as affordable as possible.

The Venicci Claro has recently been released. It was one of the ones I thought I'd go and take a look at.

I got the Nuna MIXX Next Generation bundle from John Lewis - it is more expensive than your budget but we got 15% off from having a baby appointment with them there - and I literally say everyday how much I love this pram and how pleased I am with it! Definitely worth the investment imo. Maybe have a look on FB marketplace etc as they're very well made so I would definitely recommend a second hand one!

It fits all your other criteria. It is especially good for us as we are both tall and I had a section so couldn't bend easily. We used the bassinet in the house as DC's day bed in the early days so got plenty of use, as well as being suitable for occasional overnight sleep.

Fluffyowl00 · 01/09/2024 22:17

I think it’s impossible to get all of that. You need 2. I’d advise something portable and easy to put up/down fits easily in the car for 1-4 like baby zen yo-yo and get a new one as second hand ones will have been through the mill. Then if you really feel it necessary get a nice massive travel system second hand for 0-2 that takes 20 mins to put in the car and just leave it up in your house/garage.

If I were to have a second I’d just use the baby zen with bassinet feature and get a lovely one, but with my first I was convinced I needed a big pram….until I tried getting it in and out of the car all the time 🤯

I was going to say a Cosatto of some sort until I saw your budget. I'd still look at them but I'm not sure you will get everything on that list at that price point unfortunately.

Agree the Ocarro ticks majority of these boxes, I love ours.

And actually OP a quick Google tells me you can get them around the 600-700 mark these days!

But only thing I would say it's definitely NOT lightweight. Which isn't really an issue if you're just going to be putting it in and out of a car but could be a pain on public transport.

We had been looking at the Wow 2. I'm just thinking about the fold though. It's much better on the wow 3 but so much more.
Do you know does the 2 fold down easily and compact with seat on?

Try and get a good quality, 2nd hand Bugaboo Fox2

Just had a look at the Venicci Claro. Does look like it ticks the boxes! Except all terrain wheels.
Might go try one.

I've had the Nuna Mixx Next for my newborn (now 2 years old) and it was an awful pram. Every aspect of it sucked. I won't bore you with details but for the love of God don't buy it.

We bought a yoyo at 6 months old and absolutely love it. The Nunas been gathering dust under the stairs, what a waste of money.

Farmersweeklyreader · 01/09/2024 22:44

I have an Uppababy vista, it is a really good solid pram and the bassinet is suitable for overnight sleep. It wasn’t cheap, mine was over £1000 but if I could go back in time, I would just buy a good condition second hand one. That’s my advice, buy a good second hand one, you will get a really good pram in your budget.

Farmersweeklyreader · 01/09/2024 22:46

Sorrry I just noticed you wanted something lightweight. The Uppababy vista is not lightweight. It’s a big pram. It’s quite heavy for lifting in & out the car.

Pyjamatimenow · 01/09/2024 22:49

I bought a new but older model of the uppababy vista to save money. My daughter is nearly four and still comfy in it when she needs a ride

BarbaraHoward · 01/09/2024 22:51

I also adored my Vista, but it is a tank. It's just gone to the attic after six years of use and has another couple of DC left in it.

Look for a secondhand Uppababy Cruz.

Boltonb · 01/09/2024 22:51

I loved my Bugaboo Fox. Meets all the criteria on your list, except price. Maybe second hand?

Oyster 3
