15 funded hours - new entitlement

From 1st Sept our DD is entitled to 15 funded hours under the new scheme.

She currently does 3.5 days. A full day is 10 hours - so we expected to be getting 1.5 days funded (paying for food) and then paying for 2 full days.

We've had our September invoice, and the hours have been deducted which is great.

However, on closer inspection instead of being billed for 2 full days we've been billed for 1 full day and 2 half days which is more expensive than 2 full days.

Nursery have said this is due to how the booking system works for the new funding, as in it takes a 10 hours Monday then 5 hours Tuesday. For reference DDs half day is a Wednesday.

Has anyone else experienced this? It seems a little unfair that we're not getting the full benefit of the funding.

Some nursery software systems will automatically take the first hours of the week off the bill as funded then charge for the rest. That’s what I presume has happened here.

@BetFreda yes I think that's what's happened. Is there a way to change this manually?

You can ask, but I doubt it. It is tricky for nurseries to individually change the funded hours as so many monitoring systems are linked to identifying which hours are funded. This is why they use the software systems.
