My eleven year old loves watching you tube Mr beast etc but his attitude is very bad when he comes off it. No idea why! We have spent a week on holiday with no WiFi and it's been a revelation..
no attitude at all..
Just wondering how I can keep this up when we get back!

My son (9.5) is only allowed You Tube on his birthday. We started this very early.....

What does he watch it on? Could that device be 'broken' and sent off for repair?

11 year olds really shouldn’t be on YouTube, even if “everyone at school is” (they really aren’t).

You just say no. Reduce screen usage overall, increase more family activity during those times that he would be on it so if it's an evening thing start going out with a football, go for an evening swim as a family, see if bowling do cheap sessions during the week etc.

We all survived without YouTube he will too but you need to expect a period of change and poorer behaviour perhaps and help him fill his time with other things until he can do it himself. As a family you should mode less screen time of your own too to sow that it is a collective effort
