If your child was barely talking at age 4

When did they start becoming more verbal/conversational? My ds has just turned 4 and can say a lot of words now but only a few 3-4 word sentences. He can't hold a conversation and speaks in a lot of Jargon still. Hearing is fine and on waitlist for SaLT

Can you afford private SLT? How long are they saying it’ll take him to be seen?

@Rainallnight soon I think but still on waitlist and no confirmed time. We did go private for 6 sessions but it's just too expensive to do again

Did you private person give you things to do at home? That’s where the vast majority of the work is done.

But in answer to your question, my boy is 6 now and speaks in full sentences though with some difficulty with fluency, syntax and word finding.
