This Is Fine GIF

Hello, my 8 month daughter has been diagnosed with iron deficiency. She needs 5mls of Galpher a day she can't have diary or breastmilk 2 hours either side of the medication. She was 6 weeks early so we started weaning late as she wasn't ready. She isn't a great eater. Prefers the boob. Tried to give her the Galpher directly into mouth with the Nuk after, nope, mixed with a Ella's pear pouch, nope, mixed with butternut squash, nope.
Has anyone had to do this and what worked? I've the fact if she doesn't get this she will need a transfusion looming over my head so stress level is high.
Also have to do this for 3 months.

Is the galpher flavoured at all? I'd try it with something stronger flavoured than pear, I think. A lot of the pouches are also quite mild tasting, so that might not be helping. What flavours does she like? For my daughter, I'd have been going with something like homemade strawberry purée (frozen strawberries, thaw, blitz, could do a bunch at once and then freeze in little ice cubes for future doses).

If you really can't get it down her, I'd go back and ask if there's another supplement that would be suitable. My daughter was a bit older, but she was prescribed Sytron, and appeared to love the cherry flavour.
