DS has stuck a squishy toy to the wall and it’s left a greasy looking mark that I can’t get off! Pic attached of the wall any the offending item, I can’t touch up the paint as the shade has been discontinued! Cleaning hacks gratefully appreciated

Following for tips as my ceiling is the same and the solution was leave the Dino where it was

Oh can I join in? I think I win - a fake poo, stuck to extra-high bedroom ceiling, that I can't even reach ON our ladder. It's been moved about when I tried scraping it off with a broom handle. 😡

Actually dying at these!

Not much help here - we redecorated and moved 😂 (not just because of greasy wall marks though!)

Balloonhearts · 25/08/2024 13:36

They don't come off, that's why I banned them in my house.

RandomMess · 25/08/2024 13:37

Also ban silly putty.

PilgorTheGoat · 25/08/2024 13:38

You can’t even paint over them without a layer of stain removing paint first

exprecis · 25/08/2024 13:39

I hung a picture over a similar mark 😅

longdistanceclaraclara · 25/08/2024 13:40

We've still got marks 10 years on,
Sorry!

Disabledmomma · 25/08/2024 13:41

We have a sticky hippo on the kitchen ceiling, and a mark as pictured on the living room ceiling where it was originally. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I’m not actually sure what animal it actually is but as an ode to ‘Bluey’ it’s called sticky hippo.

Muthauckas · 25/08/2024 13:45

I came on here just to find out how to remove the bastard marks from the ceiling! 😂

Glad to know I'm not the only one with the marks though, and that my children are not the only ones banned from owning these toys anymore.

DNAHOY · 25/08/2024 14:41

well shit. 💐 in solidarity for all silly putty victims

Also all make up needs to be locked away, same with arts and crafts - downstairs under close supervision.

I have many DC only one coloured on the fabric dining chairs, other friends homes did not fair so well.
