Long breaks during feeds?

My little one is 12 weeks on Monday and up
until this last week he has been fab at feeding, apart from wind, he gets it quite quickly but nothing a good old burping session couldn't fix but this last week he has not been so good with feeding he will have about 2oz and then anywhere between a 30-40 minute break before he shows any interest in wanting to finish this rest. This is every feed even after sleeping all night he has his last bottle at 9pm and tends to wake up at 7:30/8am (very lucky) so I thought in the morning his first bottle he would want to guzzle it down after going so long but he still does the long break?

Im not overly bothered by him wanting to take the break, im just wondering if anyone has had this before? Is there anything I could do to help him? Is this normal? Is it ok to have this length break? Is it something I could possibly be doing wrong?

He is exclusively formula fed and feeds every 4hrs apart from at night time.

any advice or suggestions or even other people who have experienced this - how long did it last?
