Feeding schedule - solids and formula.

Hi,
My DD turned 8 months and I'm so confused how much solid/formula she should be given. She's a low birth weight baby and has remained on the 2nd centile, hv and docs are happy with her progress but I'd like some advice re her feeding schedule.

She wakes up anytime after 7.30am and this is her schedule.

7.45am anything between 4.5-6 oz of milk
9am approx 6-8 spoonfuls of Weetabix with fruit puree and milk OR fruit puree and 120g of yoghurt with peanut butter.
11.45am anything between 5-6.5oz of milk
1.30pm half an avocado and banana (with yoghurt if she didn't have it for breakfast)
3.45pm anything between 4.5 -5oz formula
6.30pm some form of vegetable pasta with cream cheese or rice and lentils with vegs or chicken with vegs
7.45pm 5oz milk
occasionally I'll give her a night feed, depending on how well she ate during the day.

If I increase the amount she drinks per feed, she brings it all up.
Does this seem ok?

If she's staying on her centile, docs are happy and she doesn't want more milk at a time then I think the schedule is fine.

Maybe add in some cheese for fats? Cubed as a snack for example.

It's fine. I'd mix up the solid food choices a bit more, introduce some eggs, cheese, fish, potato etc. I'd probably swap out Weetabix for eggs. Does she eat finger food as well as puree.

Thanks for replying! I do give cheese, fish, potatoes etc. Eggs we struggled with but I've slowly introduced it. I've given her pretty much every veg/fruit I can think off! I give mashed and purees and her menu is different everyday - sorry, I just gave a recent sample menu. DD gags quite a bit. She does have 5 teeth though and i know she shouldn't be having purees 😭

Sounds fine, I’d probably give her a bit more of a lunch-y lunch (eg. mash the avocado on some toast, add a bit of chicken, try her with some leftovers from your dinner the night before) but formula sounds bang on.

I always find this stage a bit of a slog- when they’re having 3 meals but not really dropping bottles yet- because it feels like you’re ALWAYS feeding them or cleaning up after feeding them or sorting bottles. It gets a bit easier once they’re properly onto solids imo

I really want to introduce sourdough bread in her diet but she gags quite a bit when i give her anything that's not soft 😭 I wish I could give her my leftovers but we eat spicy food. I'm southeast asian so my diet consists of mainly homemade curries 😶 however, i have introduced turmeric, black pepper and cumin in my DD diet and she loves the flavour!

Nothing to say she can’t have spicy stuff! Ok she might not like super hot chilli initially but you’ve tried some spices and she likes it, keep going!

gagging is normal, it’s how they learn to chew before swallowing. It’s not dangerous. She might suddenly vomit though! Sour dough is quite a hard texture for a baby, maybe try other breads first?
