6 year old bedtime routine been AWFUL over the summer - anyone else

Terrible manic behaviour, not listening to us, refusing to sit on loo etc

messing around when we try to read books

Getting out of bed numerous times for food / loo

anyone else??

please tell me it will go back to normal once back at school. I need to work in the evenings and cannot cope

Solidarity. My dd6 is exactly the same. Sadly she's been getting worse and worse since the clocks changed earlier this year, and school doesn't tire her, nor have my endless attempts to wear her out this holiday.

I am so done. Dread evenings and bedtime.

My 6 year old being a nightmare and still not asleep

We've given up on bedtime to be honest, she's currently in the bath and woke up at 10am today so I don't think she's gonna drift off that easily. We go on holiday on Saturday though so I'm not bothering to try and change it now

My 5 year old is awful at the moment. Taking forever to fall asleep (getting out of bed, opening/closing curtains, getting extra books and toys and so on), then also waking up frequently around 4am and disturbing me for trivial things. She’s exhausted as a result as she’s not sleeping in much later than usual and her behaviour in the day is horrible as a result. I know she’s tired but I don’t know how to solve it, early nights don’t actually mean she sleeps any earlier!!

Same here, currently upstairs cackling away with dc1. I honestly don't give a shit at this point. Looking forward to the 8pm bedtime on the second day on school. Bwahaha.
