At what age do the tantrums start to lessen

My ds is about to turn 4 and no sign or the constant meltdowns and whinging lessening. When did things start to improve for you?

A lot of ignoring, ‘use your words please’ and carrying on, consequences if it carries on. We had one who almost never did it and another who was pretty bad. He missed a fair few trips to the park, even a playdate once for his behaviour but did soon get it.

I think it depends on how well they can communicate. DD stopped tantrums much earlier than DS as her early speech was better. He was about 4.5 when it lessened
