My baby is 3 months old, he was small when born and is gaining weight but very slowly (about 2 oz per week). The problem is he just doesn’t seem very hungry?
He is formula fed, he was combi fed until 6 weeks and his weight gain started dropping massively at 8 weeks when he started refusing feeds. I got him weighed and he’s been weighed weekly now due to HV concerns.
Example he will sleep from 7pm to 7am sometimes with a dream feed at 10pm. He won’t then be hungry for milk until about 11am meaning he’s going 12 hours+ with nothing. Similarly he could go from lunchtime to bedtime without a feed. I offer him 4oz every 3 hours and usually he’ll have a few mouthfuls then spit it out.
Has anyone else had a baby like this? The HV is quite concerned as he’s still tiny but short of force feeding him I’m not sure what to do?
